Modular Vacuum Gripper (1000×1200)

Vacucom were asked to look at an application to handle a full pallet layer of boxed product by one of our customers, we couldn’t use any electrics onsite so we had to design the MVG vacuum gripper to work with venturis instead, the venturi works on compressed air supply.

We had to work on the assumption that there would be lots of space between each box on the layer as the layer patterns were quite sporadic, therefore a lot of leakage, the whole layer had to be handled without dropping any of the boxes.

The initial order was placed for 1off unit, a further order for 4 units was delivered after successful production trials had been carried out.

There are approx. 660, 33mm vacuum cups on each MVG unit.
